Day 15. Tuesday, May 5.
We woke in our RV park in Seattle with some business to attend to:
This guy was recommended to us by the facility, which was awesome because he drives his shop to you. And while very "convenient", he did not fix the headlights. He did refer us to somebody that could. We got in touch with the shop around noon and while they were busy for the day, we made an appointment for 7 am the next morning. While Mr. Convenience was working on the RV, Casey went and got a rental car and we took advantage of a break in the rain and drove into Seattle.
First stop was Pike Place Market for lunch and shopping. Phenomenal clam chowder.
We bought some tangerines, cannolis, shrimp, scallops, and some Mothers' Day gifts. Not a bad outing, other than Pops almost getting busted.
We then took off for the Space Needle. Did you know that the Space Needle does not reach into space, nor is it a needle of any kind? Trust me I'm an expert now.
By the way, it was really cold and windy up there.
We then went to Pioneer Square where we scored some Jimmy Johns bread, found an awesome book store, and saw a bunch of crack heads. The book store had a really cool castle in it that I totally stormed.
After that we caught most of the Wings game at a sports bar (not before wandering into a gay bar that happened to be showing hockey highlights) and took Pops to the airport for his red eye home.
It's hard to believe my dad was with us for ten days. The days really do feel shorter on this trip and the time has flown. Casey and I will miss the wonderful conversations with you, Pops, but not as much as Niko and Riley will.
Oh, Erob, you are so delightfully witty! I'm so glad you have this blog-- I can actually picture you telling this story! Miss you guys a TON. Love, Brittles
